Performing Market Assessments for Medical (Diagnostic) Products

In an earlier essay, the overview of a five-step approach was presented for product assessment and analytical modeling. The link below is for a detailed presentation of this, in a practical process. There is also a bit of a broad perspective on how the approach drives to recommendations at the end.

This more detailed process will address another five aspects related to the project.

  1. What is the question to be answered?
  2. What is the scope?
  3. What is the process to be followed?
  4. What are the roles of various organizations or people?
  5. What are the deliverables?


At the end of the program, there should be a recommendation for the product, the market, or other aspects of the strategy. Moreover, there should be sufficient information to develop at least high-level forecasts.

In another essay, I will further discuss how to gain even more confidence in the conclusions, using triangulation.
